The ice caves are a legend in Rexburg. I've never been out there, but everyone loves it!
Directions- Head out of Rexburg towards the sand dunes on the road that passes in front of Wal-Mart. Keep going straight and you will reach the sand dunes. Right as the dunes begin to end there is a cattle guard on the road, cross it. Now keep driving straight for 20 to 30 minutes until you come upon another cattle guard in the road. Very shortly after this second guard there should be a dirt road that goes off to your right. Follow it out for another 15 to 25 minutes and you will find the cave.

Go right on to the dirt road and follow it for 10 to 15 minutes. The road will fork a couple of times but always stay left and keep an eye out for a big hole in the ground.

From US-20 northbound, take the North Rexburg exit. Turn left, onto 1900 E. (Parker-Salem Highway and the Red Road). Travel 6.3 miles north to the 2nd flashing light (at the 4-way STOP). Turn left and travel 0.85 miles to the split in the road.Stay right, over the railroad tracks and continue on 500 N for 2.9 miles. At the Egin Lakes Access sign turn right onto the paved access road.
From US-20 southbound, take exit #346 (Saint Anthony City Center). Turn right onto Bridge Street and continue through the stop light to West 4th N. Turn left onto West 4th N, which turns into 600 N after you leave city limits. Follow 600 N approximately 3 miles until you reach the intersection with Red Road. Turn left to go to Egin Lakes

Safety tips
I just wanted to share a few Safety tips as most of us will be getting out this weekend and often in crowded areas.
Dress your kids in a bright NON-Holiday color. I.e everyone wears Red White and Blue for the 4th of July so go for something Yellow it will make your kids easier to spot.
DO NOT Have your child wear something with their name on it. It makes it so anyone can call them by their name. I.E. "Jimmy my mom sent me to get you".
Here are some cute Temporary Tatoos you can put on your child with a phone number/ who they are: http://www.safetytat.com/
When you head out in the morning take a picture of each child on your phone. That way if you happen to get seperated you have a picture of exactly what they look like that day to help in the search, exactly how their hair is done, clothes their wearing etc.
The one tip I love it a Helium Balloon. Simply, just $1, your kids will love it and YOU can see it above everyones head. I Tie it to the back beltloop and away we go. I know if I can see their balloon (Usually something weird like a happy birthday) Their still close

Save Money on Utilities
Ok so I mostly wan this blog to be about stuff to do with your family, But when I tried this I couldnt resist sharing. First a list of all the ideas we've heard before:
Put a water bottle in your toilet (saves if you pay the city utilities)
Switch to CFL's
Switch to Time of Day, During the nights and weekends the electric ity is cheap (about 1/3 the price)
Turn up your thermostate in the summer and down in the winter.
Etc.
Heres one I just heard of and decided to try. Our Electric bill is around $250- Dont panic its for our 4000 sq ft house. But still thats a lot of money every month! Thats $3000 a YEAR! Yipes! So I read on article and the woman said she saved by just pluing all her appliances into a powerstrip and turning it off when not in use. So heres what I did, I plugged my kitchen appliances, my microwave, my TV and DVD player into powerstrips and turned then off when not in use. I need to add a disclaimer: I'm not very good at remembering to turn things off, sometimes I'd leave the microwave on for days at a time. So what you realy want to know is did it work? YES it did!! Even with me foreting to keep them off all the time I still cut the bill by $50!!!. And thats just doing it in the 2000sq ft that my family lives in. I'm going to encourae my upstairs tenants to do the same and see if we can get the bill down even more.
Thats a savings of $600 a year! Thats a Bahama Cruise!

Yellowstone Bear World
If your like I was I passed Yellowstone Bear World I pointed out the animals to the kids but thought of it as a tourist trap and so never went. Last year My friend bought me a season pass and it was wonderful! There is of course the drive through area. This has variouse animals that the kids get a kick out of getting so close to. The Lodge has a gift shop that I always make my kids put their hand in their pockets as we alk through. Behind the lodge theres a place to see the small bear cubs, a bridge where you can feed fish, a petting zoo with deer, chickens, goats, etc., and then theres the rides. The petting Zoo and the Rides are what realy makes it a great locals area. The rides are run by the workers there and the kids can play for hours!!

Teton Flood Museum
Rexburg being what it is I like to have a few indoor activities so when the weather "pulls a Rexburg" We can still have fun. The Teton Flood Museum is one of those.
