Busy Bag Swap

Have you heard of these yet? There are gaining popularity and I have to say its a great idea!

Heres how it works, each women makes 10 identical busy bags (Should take only an evening maybe 2) and then we all get together and exchange them- That way we... all have 10 different bags! If you cant make it to the exchange night but still want to participate just drop your bags to me, I'll do the exchange and then you can come pick up your fun new busy bags at your convenience.

Here are some ideas:
- I think this one would be great with 4x6 cards with their Name and address/ Phone number
- This would be easy with Pellon and Fabric markers
-This would be easier with a dollarstore photobook
-This would be great with foam for the tangrams and 4x6 cards with a printed puzzle to solve

Popsicle Stick Puppets- using magazine people!

Magazine faces instead of felt faces:

Some Guidelines: Each activity should fit in a gallon size ziplock bag- thats not what you have to bring them in but I wanted a nice easy to stuff in the purse size.

* Self-contained. This way, you can just grab a bag and GO! (without having to add a number of supplies to the bag in order to make it useful.)

* Transportable. Yes, they will definitely be used at home, but I want to be able to grab a few bags to take to a restaurant, a waiting room, plane trips, car rides, etc.

* Convenient. None of the bags will have supplies that require major set-up or clean-up: (no paint, watercolors, liquids, sand, dirt, etc.)

* Free. I didn’t want anyone spending money on this project! We're all crafty if you dont have a supply just ask here and I'm sure someone has extra to supply :)

* Easy to Make: I didn’t want anyone spending hours and hours and hours making their activity.

* Re-usable. I want these activities to last a while so that our other children can use them in the future. Therefore, I avoided activities where you would have to buy new supplies to re-stock the bag. This is why lamination is important for some of the activities.

Search Pinterest for "Busy Bag"- there are thousands of ideas.

Do you want to participate in a busy bag swap? I can organize another, or with this information feel free to organize one with neighbors or church members.
